Abstract

This research aims to study, the geomorphological evaluation of the ‎determinants of urban expansion in the city of Haditha, which represent ‎these determinants of the Euphrates River from the northeast, Haditha ‎Lake from the northwest, and the edges of the western plateau from the ‎west, as well as a number of valleys, including short and large, the most ‎important of which is Wadi The two fields of Wadi Zaghdan, Wadi Banat ‎Al-Hassan, Wadi, which penetrates the edges of the western plateau ‎towards the Euphrates River, has shown through this research the extent ‎of the influence of geomorphological determinants in a modern city, which ‎resulted in the direction of many problems, the most prominent of which ‎was the large urban sprawl towards agricultural lands located on the ‎banks of the river. The Euphrates, the most important of these areas are ‎Bani Daher, Al-Askari neighborhood and Sheikh Hadid. The study in ‎Haditha city showed that the expansion of Haditha city cannot continue ‎with this longitudinal expansion adjacent to the Euphrates River on the ‎one hand and the edges of the western plateau on the other, which will ‎force Haditha city to expand to the west, i.e. towards its edges. The ‎western plateau is also towards the plain lands that were a modern lake ‎flooded with water, represented by water storage lands, which requires ‎the extension of a network of transport roads that work to bypass these ‎geomorphic determinants. accessibility
