Abstract

Population growth is considered one of the important axes in modern population studies, and it has great importance for understanding the relationship between demographic phenomena and the extent of its consequences in terms of the number, growth, and distribution of the population, which is based on key criteria "births, deaths and migration". And the success of planning for economic, social, political and demographic growth, whether at the level of the state, a province, or a region, requires an assessment of the population's size and the variation in its growth from one site to another. The population growth rates and their distribution are not done in a specific way otherwise, they differ in forms in terms of time and place. This study depends on the investigation of the spatiotemporal variance in the Haditha district's population growth according to its administrative units for the period (1987-2021). This study tries to clarify the truth about the annual population growth in Haditha district and the variation in spatial and temporal distribution rates according to its administrative units. There are several factors that played an important role in influencing the phenomenon of variation in population growth rates, which was represented by social, economic, demographic and political transformations and security. . The study was based on the population's official census information as well as the estimates for the period (1987-2021)
