Abstract
This study aimed at identifying the degree at which social studies teachers apply teaching skills in the basic stage in Al-Dhuluiya District from their perspective and the relationship of that with demographic variables. In order to achieve the study objective, the researcher developed a questionnaire that consisted of (28) items distributed to six domains and applied it to the study sample that consisted of (80) male and female teachers who teach social studies in Al-Dhuluiya District for the academic year (2019-2020). The results showed that the degree at which social studies teachers apply teaching skills in the basic stage in Al-Dhuluiya District from their perspective was high. The domain of (stimulating motivation) was in the first place, followed by (introducing the teaching material), (classroom evaluation), (demonstrating objectives), (class management and organization), and finally (activities and educational aids). The results showed that there are statistically significant differences due to the impact of gender regarding the degree at which social studies teachers apply teaching skills at the total level and in the domains of (classroom management and organization, stimulating motivation, classroom evaluation) in favor of the female teachers, while there are no statistically significant differences due to the variables of teaching experience and educational qualification the degree at which social studies teachers apply teaching skills at the total level and in all the domains except for the domain of stimulating motivation in terms of the variable of teaching experience in favor of ( more than 10 years).
